Annual pre-season visit by Kangaroos players and officials, North Hobart, Tasmania.
Sunday, 15th February was the day that players and officials from the Kangaroos came down to Tasmania for their annual visit. This year, the event was held at the North Hobart Football Ground instead of Tolosa Park, Glenorchy.
The players present were Brady Rawlings, Drew Petrie, Troy Makepeace, and new recruit Chad Jones (a life-long Kangaroos supporter). They were available for autographs, and were also helping out the local kids with footy skills. There were opportunities to purchase Kangaroos merchandise, memberships, including membership of the Southern Tasmania Supporters' Group, sausages and drinks at the BBQ, and raffle tickets to win one of the two signed players jumpers on offer.
One of the highlights of the day was the signing up of Tasmanian-born player Brady Rawlings as a member of the Southern Tasmania Supporters' Group. Welcome aboard Brady! Incidentally, this year, the Supporters' Group is now sponsoring two players, Shannon Watt and also Brady Rawlings.
The weather was mostly kind, although it had been threatening to rain, and a good number of local supporters turned up. The Club has indicated that it will run a similar event next year.
